About Victor:
I am currently a Senior Computer Specialist at the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network where I spend my days in a secluded cave on the University of Washington campus writing data processing code and baby-sitting a rather complicated mixed network of Sun, Linux and Mac computers. Sometimes they let me out to help install instruments in the field :).
Prior to 2008, I worked in experimental igneous petrology, computational thermodynamics and volcanic gas geochemistry* at the University of Washington in Seattle, the Geophysical Laboratory in Washington DC and UC Berkeley. The work was fun, interesting and rewarding, but it was time to move on.

Victor's Publications:
A relatively complete list of my publications, including links to pdf's can be found here.
Resources:
The main MELTS server has moved with Mark Ghiorso to OFM Research. It can be found at http://melts.ofm-research.org. Please update your bookmarks!
Programs for C-O-H-S-Cl-F gas speciation calculations (Kress et al. 2004) can be found here.
Igneous melt inclusion PEC correction programs (Kress and Ghiorso, 2004) are here. A web-based implementation can be found here.
(Coming Soon!) Complete source code for my object oriented c++ library for phase equilibrium calculations (with python binders). Really...I will get to this!
